Bihar public Service Commission (BPSC) has released notification regarding to 69th Common Combined (Preliminary) Competitive Examination.
69th BPSC Exam Pattern:
Bihar Public Service Competitive Examination conducted by the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) comprises of two successive Stages:
BPSC PCS Preliminary Examination : It is of objective type, which is a qualifying examination.
The BPSC Prelims exam is a single paper that consists of 150 questions with 150 marks in total. As per the latest 69th BPSC notification, negative marking is introduced in the Prelims paper. 0.25 mark shall be deducted for an incorrect answer, while 1 mark shall be awarded for the correct answer.

BPSC PCS Main Examination : It consists of BPSC written examination and interview.
There are four papers in BPSC mains exam.
(1) General Hindi
(2) General Studies Ppaer 1 & 2
(3) Essay
(4) Optional Paper

You have to pass first paper (Hindi) with minimum 30 marks. Extra marks in Hindi will not added in total marks.
General Hindi- 100 Marks
BPSC General Studies subject is divided in two papers. There are three sections in both of GS paper.
GS paper 1 – Maximum Marks – 300 (Timing - 3 hours)
GS paper 2 – Maximum Marks – 300 (Timing - 3 hours)
Eassay – Maximum Marks – 300 (Timing - 3 hours)
Optional Subject
Paper-4 (Paper-I of First optional subject), full marks - 100
